2010 Competition Highlights

Want some inspiration for your entry?

Last year’s inaugural Hands Across Australia Competition saw some amazing entries from all around the country.

Warburton Ranges Remote Community School (WA) used the song lyrics as a teaching aid in their English language studies, and took advantage of their magnificent surroundings to produce a stunning clip.

Ngunnawal Primary School (ACT) re-arranged the song for their school band, and students sang and played it complete with costumes and choreography.

Murri Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community School (QLD) involved their whole school community, including four generations of one school family.

Melville High School (NSW) got the whole school involved with a colourful and choreographed performance.

Sacred Heart Primary School (VIC) stood hand in hand across a bridge that separates Victoria from the New South Wales border to symbolise the meaning behind 'Hands Across Australia'

Centralian Senior College (NT) worked together as a school community utilising different departments to create the clip that used amazing school mural as their backdrops.

Collarenebri Central School (NSW) took Hands Across Australia, and made it their own! Using the song as their inspiration, they produced a performance with a strong message about Indigenous disparity in Australia.

2010 National winners, Pembroke and Marree Schools (SA) embodied the opening lyrics of Hands Across Australia “If you help me and I help you, think of all the things that we could do” by using their long standing partnership to work together on creating their entry.

All schools across Australia are invited to enter the 2011 GenerationOne Hands Across Australia School Competition. All the resources you need are available on this site.

We look forward to seeing your school's entry!
